In the heart of South Los Angeles, Ted Watkins Memorial Park is a monumental piece of history. This 28-acre facility was named after the founder of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) in 1995. The park is home to Team Ridley-Thomas Youth Club which provides after school recreational activities for youth. Ted Watkins Memorial Park is also home to the Promenade of Prominence Walk of Fame celebrating the accomplishments of community leaders. Activities such as baseball, flag football, basketball and soccer are offered year-round. The park also features a swimming pool, skate park, walking path, fitness zones and Farmer’s Market.

Teen Clubs provide youth with a variety of recreational activities and interpersonal social networking opportunities. Club members are encouraged to take part in altruistic activities such as community service projects and opportunities to volunteer. Exciting field trips to sporting events, museums and theatrical performances allow participants access to cultural and civic events throughout the academic year. All teens between the ages 12-17 are welcome to join. Other, Proof of Age, Parental Consent forms are required

Our afterschool program offers your child many exciting activities and memorable experience. Activities include: Homework help, computer time, arts and crafts, holiday parties, and fun-filled field trips. Also includes school pick up program for participants of Florence Elementary School. Our Day Camp offers your child many exciting activities and memorable experiences. Activities include: Singing, organized games, arts & crafts, and fun-filled field trips. Proof of Age and Parental Consent forms are required.
Our swim lessons offer an oportunity to develop different swimming skills. Our levels range from level 1, beginners, having no or little knowledge of swimming skills. Level 2, develop the skills learned in level 1 and be more confortable in the water. Level 3, master previous strokes and introduce breastroke and butterfly kick. level 4, where the students develop the proper techniques to be part of a aswim team.
A team water sport game that consists of four quarters in which the teams attemp to score goals by throwing the ball into their opponent's gaol. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the game.
Aqua Aerobics is an organized fitness class instructed by Pool Lifeguards with the goal of bringing a full body work out while in an encouraging environment.
