Acton Wash Sanctuary is located in Acton, California, a beautiful northern Los Angeles County town named by a local miner from Acton, Massachusetts. The Sanctuary is nestled in the Sierra Pelona Mountains. A secondary branch of headwaters run through the Sanctuary all the way to the Santa Clara River. The 75-acre sanctuary has four distinct seasons, with snow during the winter and colorful floral displays during the spring and fall. Here we can see a gradual blending of coastal and desert plant communities.
