This beautiful park was created after a series of public meetings held in the spring of 1988. The community was given the opportunity to establish their priorities for the development of this park. In attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony held on March 17, 1990, were Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and former County Parks and Recreation mascot, Ranger Raccoon. The park was dedicated November 9, 1990. It has been a venue for concerts and other special events, as well as a variety of community recreational activities.
